Police Foundation Board President, Daniel Terraccianno, speaks to Greater Fayetteville Chamber
On Thursday April 18th, Police Foundation Board President, Daniel Terracciano, spoke at the Greater Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce Coffee Club about the upcoming National Police Week. In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week.
National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others – to include the 10 fallen officers of the Fayetteville Police Department. We also honor those police officers and civilian employees who serve our community with the Fayetteville Police Department during Police Week which is May 13th – 18th this year. The Police Foundation will be letting all of the employees of the Fayetteville Police Department know how valued they are. This is shown through meals, little goodies, a Field of Blue flags, etc. and wraps up with a police ball.
Mr. Terracciano informed everyone there are many ways to say thank you and encouraged everyone to participate during Police Week either through sponsorships, eating at a restaurant participating in Back the Blue night or even saying a prayer for the department.
